Pada mulanya momonon hanyalah sekelompok anak muda kreatif, hiperaktif dengan gaya lucu dan apa adanya. Momonon menurut pandangan mereka adalah bebegig sawah/orang-orangan sawah, kemudian kami mengubahnya dengan pandangan sumber kreatifitas. Terinspirasikan oleh musisi legendaris jamaica yaitu Bob Marley sebagai arus utamanya pada awal 2004 Momonon membentuk band. Momonon bertekad terjun dalam bentang samudera musik Indonesia dengan Reggae sebagai genre andalannya dan dengan Reggae pula turut serta menyemai benih-benih kedamaian ke seluruh pelosok negeri sampai penjuru dunia.
